If you thought Callie was cute, wait until you see the newest member of our family! Tyler Joseph Plastow was born on June 4, 2007 at 6:41pm. He was 8 pounds, 12 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long.
Tyler was due on May 28th and when it had been a week and there were absolutley no indications that Tyler had any intention on being born any time soon, the doctor decided it was time to induce labor.
Carrie was hooked up to all the monitors, IVs, and the doctor broke her water at noon. She decided to wait out the contractions as long as possible before requesting an epidural. She did well for a couple of hours, but wouldn't you know it, as soon as she told Tyson he ought to go grab some lunch while he could, the contractions increased quite a bit in intensity. Luckily Tyson came back in a hurry, the epidural was given, Carrie progressed quickly, and it was time to push.
After an hour and a half of pushing, the doctor discovered that Tyler was head down, but face up - a dangerous position for his little neck. The doctor tried to turn Tyler, but he flipped right back. Almost an emergency c-section was ordered, but thankfully after a few pushes, and a careful doctor, Tyler's healthy little wails could be heard throughout our delivery room.
