We're Moving to South Dakota!

That's right! Tyson just got a really great job offer to produce the 10pm news for the #1 rated news station, KELO, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After several other not so great job offers, this one came along last week and it feels really right, so we're going! Stay tuned for pictures and details of life in South Dakota...

Plastow Week O' Fun!

What a week of fun! Tyson's whole family came to town for a week for vacation, graduation, and a wedding. We spent the first part of the week at Tyson's family's cabin in Island Park, Idaho.
One morning we took two rafts down a quiet little river. We rounded a bend and two huge moose were right smack in the middle of our way - a big bull moose and his wife. These are pretty cool animals to see from a distance, but they are quite dangerous up close! There we were, 4 children under the age of 3 on the rafts (who were excitedly pointing and yelling, "Elephant!" or panting like a puppy), and a bunch of very nervous parents and grandparents, drifting closer and closer. The first raft manged to hug the bank and slip past the animals. Just then, the pair of moose decided to approach. Had our raft (Tyson, Carrie, and Tyler) immediately followed the 1st raft, the moose would have walked right on top of us. As a was, we quietly clung to the bank while the 2 moose came closer and closer trying to decide whether they should eat us or not. Luckily, at about 10-15 feet away, the bull scampered up onto the embankment. After a long look at us, the female followed behind. Phew! That was the adventure of the week.

Beautiful Mesa Falls!

Tyson graduated from BYU on August 14th and 15th with a degree in Communications - Broadcast Journalism. Here he is ringing the Victory Bell while Tyler gives him a congratulatory hug. HAPPY GRADUATION TYSON! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!

The last event of the week was Dustin (Tyson's younger brother) and Lindsay's wedding in the Salt Lake Temple. Tyler had SO much fun with his cousins all week long and they capped it off by dancing and walking together all around the wedding reception at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

Surprise! Happy Birthday Tyson

Tyson's birthday was on July 26th. That also happened to be the day that Grandma Rowe celebrated her 100th birthday.
So, to give him a special day all to himself, Tyson's loving wife threw him a spectacular surprise party the next day.
After church more than 40 people were crammed into our living room, waiting. Wouldn't you know this would be the Sunday that Tyson got stuck at Church doing his Church calling! But everyone was patient and the look of complete surprise and happiness on Tyson's face made the wait worth it when he finally walked in the door amidst a chorus of "Surprise!" and "Happy Birthday to you..."
