Ever since Comic Con was born in SLC 3 years ago, Uncle Matthew has made sure his niece and nephew could go with him. Tyson usually chaperones, but this year it was my turn to go and see what all the fuss is about.
This year we had a Queen Elsa (easy) and Jek 14 (what the - who?). Apparently he is some Star Wars Lego character. So Tyler's amazing mom went to I don't know how many stores, found him a storm trooper costume, bought a long sleeved blue shirt, cut it up and sewed a blue arm onto the costume. He was happy.
We drove to SLC and it was crowded madness! People really dig this Comic Con phenomenon. It's like a huge Halloween party with all sorts of elaborate costumes.
We found Uncle Matthew, er, Uncle Hercules.
I can see why he does this sort of thing. He was like a character walking around at Disneyland; people kept stopping him to take his picture.
Tyler found his buddies.
Hanging out with Uncle Hercules in the kids area.
I let the kids each choose an activity that I would pay for. Lydia wanted her nails painted.
Tyler made a jet rocket pack.
Then they played some games.
Waiting for our food at El Matador on the way home.
Thanks Uncle Matthew!
