Tyson's news show did coverage on the Barnum and Bailey Circus on Elephant Appreciation Day, Sept. 22nd, and scored free tickets to the show that same evening. So, we packed up the kids and their Opa and went to SLC for the circus.
We arrived early enough to go down to the floor for the pre-show and watch Asia the elephant paint a picture.
Opa got to try on a clown outfit.
And Lydia met a glow in the dark clown.
The kids had a blast! And we adults had a blast watching the kids' reactions. Lydia was clapping and squealing for a good hour and a half nonstop. Then the two kids would sit together and giggle and giggle.
Tyler was shy at first, but warmed up as the show went on and began to oooo and ahhhh. We had a lot of fun and were amazed by the tightrope walkers, the guys walking in the hamster wheels, the elephants, the tigers, the human catapult-on-fire, etc.
We were all pretty wiped out when we got home (I would shorten the circus by 1/2 hour - and turn down the volume a wee bit), so we slept well. The next day Tyler played circus all day. Lydia was a tightrope walker, I was the girl who rides the elephant, Dada was the Ringmaster, and Tyler was the guy in charge of putting everything together (the circus builder man).
