Provo City Center Temple Open House

This place is pretty special to us.  Tyson and I both attended Stake Conferences as single students at BYU, then again when we were married.  The Provo Tabernacle was such a beautiful, special building filled with history, both personal and pioneer.  When it caught fire, I cried and cried. When it was announced that it would be restored and turned into a temple, I cried and cried.
We waited a long time for this day.
Today our family got to walk through the temple's open house tour.
See this guy?  He was just a baby when I used to hold him in my arms during Stake Conference here and walk with him out in the halls in the turrets when he was fussy. Now look at how they have both grown! From a baby to a tall, handsome young boy and from a tabernacle to a beautiful temple. I'm a bit nostalgic today.
When we walked into the Celestial Room at the very top of the temple, Lydia let go of my hand and whispered, "I'm going to go talk to Heavenly Father!"  She ran over to a chair in the middle of the room, sat down, bowed her head, and prayed.
(I'm so grateful the tour volunteers let her have her moment, instead of whisking her off the furniture, back into the line).
The temple is absolutely beautiful inside.  I loved the decor nod to the pioneers who built it in the first place.

Mama/Daughter Circus Date

I took Lydia on a Mama/Daughter date to the small circus that comes to town.  She was so excited about everything (as she always is) and I even treated her to a ride on the camel during intermission.
I had to carry my big little 5-year-old to the car when it was over, because she had exhausted all of her energy.

Mall Train

There's a new train at the mall and Grandma wanted to test it out so she sent the kids (and Tyson as a chaperone).  They loved the ride and I liked the sweet grandpa Engineer.

Christmas Eve 2015

'Twas the night before Christmas and parties were held...

First games and snuggles at Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Jim's house.
Then lots of stories at the Hillier house.
Followed by the Manger Scene reenactment.
And sleeping under the Christmas Tree.  Okay, technically this was on the night of the 23rd so as to not interfere with Santa Claus, but it makes a pretty picture, doesn't it?
